For the past couple years Arlyna has been organising Craft Nights for designers and non-designers, setting aside Friday nights once or twice a month to hold the event in our office.

The whole of Craft Night is to encourage staff to do handmade stuff which is totally different from our day-to-day work. This encourages learning, inspiration, exchange of ideas, exploring different mediums, stimulating creativity and comaraderie.

Themes in the past have ranged from painting on fabric with stencils, painting on glass or mugs, marbling with nail polish, sewing some felt toys or accessories, transfer printing and even hand sewing bags or purses.

The latest event held last November was the use of leather to create anything. Some did travel journal covers, key rings, hand sewn pouches, subway card sleeve, wallets and more.

Arlyna has already planned the next Craft Night for after Chinese New Year, exploring yet another type of printing skill. Exciting events ahead.
