Redefining NDB's IEO Report Design System

The project involved redesigning the reports for NDB's Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) to ensure that the level and category of each report could be easily recognized through the cover design.

Challenges:
With the IEO releasing more reports to the public, it became crucial to have a comprehensive and easily recognizable design system.

Objectives:

  1. Develop a cohesive reports design system for the IEO department.
  2. Create unique covers for reports to indicate their level and evaluation category.
  3. Ensure consistency and recognition in the NDB visual language.

Approach:

  1. Analysis: We evaluated the current report designs and anticipated future reports.
  2. Design Development: Various design templates were created with distinct visual elements to differentiate report levels and projects.
  3. Feedback and Iteration: Stakeholder feedback was collected, and designs were refined accordingly.
  4. Implementation: The new design system was implemented across all reports.

Results:

  1. Enhanced Clarity: The new cover designs made identifying the report's level and project easier.
  2. Unified Style: A cohesive and recognizable visual identity was established for all reports.
  3. Streamlined Process: The consistent look and feel simplified the implementation of future reports.

Conclusion: The redesigned reports and new design style successfully met the needs of the IEO Department, improving their visual appeal, clarity, and consistency and contributing to a better visual identity.
